Year 1K OLC

 Good evening parents, Wow! What an absolutely busy yet fun first fortnight we have had in the 1K team.  Our days have been jam-packed full of learning already - place value in mathematics, manipulating sounds in our spelling groups to create new words, writing recount texts and changing fragments into real sentences, beginning our reading and mathematics groups, learning about sounds and how scientists record their learning and observations, learning about the art elements of line and shape to begin our self portraits and collecting daily data to answer our investigative question as mathematicians. Phew!  Plus all of the awesome team building things like helping others, taking turns to share ideas and listening to others ideas, working with a partner to solve problems and enjoying God's creations and environment together.   I am so proud of how much focus and persistence with a positive attitude our 1K team are showing when learning new things. Dear Parents,  What an great first week we had!  Welcome to the 2021 parent information night for Year One. This year it looks a little bit different due to COVID restrictions.   We understand that in previous years, it might have been a bit difficult for some people to attend due to other commitments, so we are very privileged to be able to present this to you all in an online capacity.  Hello parents! What an absolutely brilliant, fantastic, wonderful first day of Year 1!  I am so blessed to have such an awesome bunch of children to be a part of the 1K team.  We were busy little bodies all day learning about the big world of Year 1, how to eat and play in the 'big school', all having our own desk to work at, how to get things out and pack away at the end of the day and even went to the new Book Bunker library with the 1P class to read a story together.  There was lots of questions, lots of answers, lots of learning and a little bit of fun too! It was a big day but a fun one with myself ready for an early night tonight so we can do it all again tomorrow.
