Week 6 Term 3

Dear Parents,

Just a few bits of information for tomorrow and next week:

Athletics Carnival

Tomorrow is our annual athletics carnival, kicking off around 9.15. You will have received an email from admin with the schedule for the day.  Please also read below other information sent from admin earlier this morning in regards to the day.  I also asked the students to have a bit of a clean out of their school bags this evening as we take them down to the oval for the day to hold their jumpers, lunchboxes and water bottles - and clearly name everything especially food containers, jumpers and hats! Students can bring teddies decorated in team colours but they will be responsible for looking after them for the day.  Students can also have coloured hair/zinc but I ask if you could do this before school at home rather than outside the class.  I'm very excited to join in the fun and looking forward to a great day tomorrow!

Open Evening

Tomorrow will also be our open evening.  The students will have work displayed around the room as well as a few samples on their desks to show.  If you are available, please drop in for a look.  To save you needing to go home and come back again, we will open the Year 1 classrooms once the carnival is finished and cleaned up, hopefully around 3.15 and remain open until 5.30.  Your child's writing books, dictation books and term three scrapbooks will be on their desks.  If you cannot make it feel free to pop in any morning or afternoon as we just keep these in their individual trays.

Assembly

We have been busy practising our song and poem for our perfomance assembly which will be next Friday.  Please read through previous blog post about costume and assistance dressing students before the big show at 2.10.  Of course, everyone is welcome to watch and enjoy our little rockers performing and we will put up a copy on the blog for those that cannot attend.  Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

Seesaw

Thank you to those families that have connected to the Seesaw families app since the start of the term. If you need another copy of the link or code, please let me know and I can email it to you.  This is a part of our formal reporting process and we will have four different samples of work and learning uploaded for you to see by the end of this week.

Homework

No homework for the remainder of this week but please send in folders tomorrow for us to collect and update with new grids and spelling words to start the fortnightly cycle again on Monday.  We do encourage you to continue reading with your child this week with any books you have at home or using the Reading Eggs online library.
