Week 3 Term 4 2021

 Dear Parents,

Well here we are, the last term and boy is it just whizzing by now!  It has been a big week practising for our opportunity to lead the Grandparents Day assembly as our prayer assembly tomorrow at 2.15.   No costumes or dress up requirements needed this time. Please also note that the all of the classrooms will be open from the end of lunch at 1.45 for grandparents and parents to pop in however our class will need to leave quite soon just after 2.00pm for us to prepare for the afternoon prayer assembly in the hall.

Our learning concepts will follow on into next week so please check out the previous blog to see some of the topics we are focusing on in 1K.  Please also feel free to email me if you would like to organise a chat before or after school one day about you child in regards to anything at all.  Anyone going to the  Busselton show may also see 5 1K student art in the OLC artwork on display as each class has several examples on display.

Another wonderful surprise is that we will welcome another student Patrick W. who will start next week.  Please make Patrick and his family feel welcome as a part of the 1K team.

The week will culminate in a Wellbeing Assembly presented by the year 4's on the Friday, you are most welcome to join us. Friday the 5th November of week 4, is also wear a T/shirt with your 'fave colour/ fave band / fave slogan – whatever makes you feel good' day!

Grandparents Day
Grandparents are most welcome to come into school at 1.45pm on Friday 29 October. They will be welcomed into the classrooms and to attend our special assembly at 2.15 pm.

Excursion Tuesday Week 6
Please keep an eye on the blog next week for more detailed information about our upcoming excursion.  We have just locked in the 16 November and changed venue as the opportunity to learn about our Wadandi culture and local significant places including an excursion to the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse arose.  We are very excited to learn about our area and increase our cultural awareness from Josh at Koomal Dreaming.

PAT Testing:
Next week and in week five we will begin our series of formal PAT assessments which will help further inform our understanding of your child's learning needs, as well as guide groupings within the classroom and inform our end of year reports. All the content within the PAT assessments cover what has been taught throughout the year and results will be passed onto your child's teacher next year. If you are planning on being away at all next week, could you please let me know so I can arrange for your child to complete at an earlier/later date.
