Week 9 Term 4 2022

 Kaya Parents,

This is the final blog post for our big Year 1 students! What a wonderful, amazing, awesome year we have had with this super bunch of children.  I am so blessed to have been their teacher for this year and watch them grow over the last four terms.  Year 1 is such a rewarding year as a teacher as what they learn and how far they come over this time is just incredible to reflect on.

Being their teacher has been truly wonderful in itself but I thank you also for the presents and gifts over the year and Christmas voucher will be spent on a new outfit with some post celebrations!

We have had such a whirlwind couple of weeks when you reflect upon it - Eagle Heritage excursion, Year 1 assembly, Christmas concert, cleaning session and free time fun sessions.  Plus the upcoming Colour Run tomorrow! Please note that I will be away for the morning tomorrow as I'll be at the Year 6 Graduation mass as a parent but back in the afternoon ready for some colourful fun! Mrs Sorgiovanni will get some extra time as their teacher tomorrow morning.

Congratulations to Keegan for being our star citizen winner for this term for the school value of excellence.  Keegan your participation and engagement in learning has been incredible and we love how you always celebrate not only your own but others' achievements as well.  Well done, Keegan.

I would also like to add what a great assembly performance on Friday! We are so proud of how much confidence the children showed with speaking and singing to the school. There was a big response from the audience about how well the Year 1’s relayed the topic of disability.

Here are a couple of the pics from our excursion - by all accounts it was a great day with a winning experience for all and according the bus driver we were the best class he has ever had!

I was so impressed with their performance skills for the Christmas concert - these kids really know how to rock it out and the choice of music was superb for parents to enjoy.  The attire also made it very festive and the dances led by Mrs Haines are a highlight for me to watch every year.

For the Colour Run.  Students have been asked to wear sports uniform tomorrow with a white or light coloured shirt to change into and possibly leave a towel in the car for travel back home as it can get messy!  They will also need closed in shoes.

Thank you for a wonderful year, we have loved teaching your beautiful children and watching them grow socially and in their learning. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.
