Week 4 Term 3 2022

 Week 4 Information

Kaya (hello),

Learning Intentions

Writing: We are learning to write opinion and reason sentences and use keywords in our persuasive planners to guide our writing.

Mathematics: We identify the features of each Australian coin and the currency it holds.

Spelling: Revision of ‘bossy e’ (split digraphs) and introduction of ‘ow’ as in ‘cow’.

Mission Markets

This Friday 12th August is the day for our annual Mission Markets. Our Markets are held to raise money for Catholic Mission Australia. The day is all about helping others and acknowledging our School Feast Day, having great fun along the way! Please bring in some money to spend (coins only) about $5 is often sufficient up to a maximum value of $10 for junior aged students. The class with the most currency at the end of the market wins a PJ/Movie Day! Please find the prices of purchases. Our class will be running the magnetic fish stall so no materials or donations will be needed from families this year.

OLC Has Talent

If your child would like to show their talent in the school’s OLC Has Talent on Friday 23rd of September, there is a list in the classroom to write your child’s name and what they will be showcasing. Once you pick the talent that you would like to showcase you can start practicing at home. At this stage, try to keep your performance to under 5 minutes. More information will be coming out soon.

Assumption of Mary Liturgy

This will be help in the classrooms on Monday the 7th of August.

Census Data

As part of collecting the 2022 Census data, it is a requirement that the school has all absentee notes on file from last Friday 5th August. If your child was absent on this day, we are required to keep records of their absence. Please ensure that you supply the school with an absentee note which can be accessed via our website at https://www.ladyofcape.wa.edu.au/absentees_form.html
